Supporting, Inspiring and Celebrating Women Every Day

Welcome to Women’s Corner, a space dedicated to supporting, inspiring and celebrating women through every stage of life.

While this blog has always focused on home life, cosy living, lifestyle inspiration and the little things that make everyday life more enjoyable, it felt important to create a dedicated space for women too.

This section is for women from all walks of life, as well as anyone who relates to or enjoys topics centred around women’s wellbeing, confidence, lifestyle and personal growth. Here, you’ll find a collection of articles designed to encourage, support and inspire.

We’ll be exploring everything from self-care and wellbeing to confidence, beauty, style, organisation, safety, home life and the everyday moments that often matter most.

Life can be busy. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming. We spend so much time caring for others, managing responsibilities, working through challenges and juggling endless to-do lists that we forget to take care of ourselves.

This space is here to help change that.

Whether you’re looking for practical advice, helpful tips, simple strategies to make life easier, encouraging words, or just a moment of calm with a cup of tea, you’ll find something here for you.

There won’t be impossible expectations or unrealistic standards. Instead, you’ll discover real-life advice, thoughtful articles and ideas designed to support everyday women living everyday lives.

Because women deserve spaces where they feel seen, heard and valued.

Women continue to shape homes, communities, businesses, families and friendships every single day. We show strength during difficult times, share kindness when it’s needed most and keep moving forward even when the path isn’t always easy.

This corner of the blog is a celebration of that strength.

A place for support.

A place for encouragement.

A place for growth.

A place for community.

Most importantly, a place where women can simply be themselves.

We are here. We matter. We belong. And we’re not going anywhere.

Welcome to Women’s Corner. We’re so glad you’re here.

Spooky Season: How Britain Has Embraced Autumn

Now, by the time August arrives, social media is full of pumpkins, autumn wreaths, spooky tablescapes, pumpkin spice drinks and cosy seasonal décor. Before summer is even over, we’re being encouraged to embrace “Spooky Season”.

And honestly? I’m here for it.

What I find interesting, though, is how much of what we now associate with autumn seems to have come from America.

Pumpkin patches, elaborate porch displays, themed events, pumpkin spice everything, and the idea that autumn itself is a season to celebrate all feel much bigger than they ever were in the UK. Modern Halloween has become a huge retail event, and autumn has transformed into a lifestyle rather than simply a season.

The funny thing is that Halloween itself has roots much closer to home. Yet many of the traditions we now recognise were popularised in America before finding their way back to Britain.

But I don’t think we’re copying it exactly.

If anything, we’re doing it in our own way.

While American homes often go all out with giant inflatables and elaborate displays, many UK homes seem to favour a softer approach. Think velvet pumpkins, candlelight, dark florals, cosy throws and subtle autumn styling. Less haunted house, more cosy cottage.

That’s probably why I think Halloween has grown beyond Halloween.

For many of us, it’s not really about 31st October anymore. It’s about marking the start of cosy evenings, decorating our homes, lighting candles and making the most of autumn before the Christmas rush begins.

So perhaps the question isn’t whether Halloween is becoming more American.

Maybe the real question is whether we’ve fallen in love with the American idea of autumn.

Whatever the answer, one thing is certain. Britain has fully embraced Spooky Season, and I can’t see that changing anytime soon. 🎃🍂
